"Like water, love seeps

through floorboards and leaves

rivulets on windows"

Dear Julie, I am so grateful that you didn't wait. I love it just as it is. It's such a powerful, vital message. And it brings comfort. Reaching my hand out your way, my friend. xo

I enjoyed reading your Substack…

I am trying to love my neighbors in this political environment. I know, of course, overtime, I will need to do that. But I’m just being honest.

I know I will get there, but it’s difficult when I see them wanting to hurt so many people so badly.

It’s tough for all of us to celebrate and rejoice in their ignorance.

I will stay with the anger and the sadness for now and hope for its transformative power. And, I will work within the democracy as an activist to help make change.

Aha! Like the fire versus water analogy. Makes one reflect again on the hate/love continuum.

Yes, may we all be like water. I’m glad you put this one out into the world now - I, for one, needed these words today. Thank you.

Yes, it may be hard,

yet may we try to listen,

even to love them.

...

Them is us when lost,

when misguided, when asleep,

when disoriented.
