I have been dreaming of houses. My childhood home mostly, but also homes I don’t know. Homes with hidden rooms, sacred spaces I tend to. I tend to know exactly what my dreams are suggesting, but I wake and forget, wake and do nothing. I want to ask my dreams to be patient. I want to say thank you for coming. I know the sandman is actually a woman: Part mother tucking us in, part powerful magician whispering one more secret before she goes invisible. Pay attention, she says, I’m telling you something.

But I wake and forget
Wake and do nothing.
…Yup. It’s time for me to put a new dream journal by my bed and write in it first thing every morning. Thanks for this reminder. I haven’t been paying attention.
I have had so many wild, very vivid "house" dreams, Julie. Hidden rooms is one of the recurring themes.
Pay attention, she says,
I’m telling you something.
Thank you for this important reminder. There is so much to be learned from dreams.
