Christy, it was so freaking cool. Let me know if you want me to send you the whole video of the visitation. I am fully bird-nerding out in the clip, but you can see my computer in the beginning. I was working on the poem and full on gasped when the hawks arrived (there were two)!
Please do!!!!! We get a lot of birds in our backyard. The hawks are the coolest. One time we had a mama hawk teaching is youngster to fly in the big oak tree right off our deck! I love the birds! Honestly, they give me hope that the world is going to be alright. They just keep doing their thing with every season.
Thanks for sharing, again. Yesterday coincidentally a butcher bird came an alighted in the back of the chair across from me not six feet away and let out a shrill cry - startling me. Not as I was writing, but still prompted me to include it in yesterday’s piece.
Hawk, a messenger from above of divine encouragement to play in the Wisdom of nature instead of worry about our beauty’s demise. Such a lovely reminder. Thank you!
This makes me want to write in your garden 🦉
Me, too!
I LOVE this poem and I LOVE that hawk!!!!! Thank you for sharing both!

Amazing, Greg!
“My face is still aging because I am aging.” Simple, but great line. Thank you for sharing.
