How to Fall Back In Love With Writing
from Out With Lanterns, a daily poetry practice
Forget everything any teacher told you. Do not think of who might read it. Dig, like a blind mole, towards the truest thing. Write as poorly as possible at first. Keep digging. You’re not there yet. You will know it when you get there because your pulse will start galloping, and the birds will start calling, circling, leaving streaks of shadow on your page. When you’ve begun to write your truest, trust the signs. Keep your quiet eyes open for visions. They will show the way.

So, so beautiful, Julie 💙
Yes. Yes. And more yes. I will be sharing this with my writing women....thank you, Julie.
